Nicole Huggins - Cosmetologist

• Age: 28
• Employer:  She has worked at Noelyne Ltd. for six years and is now the senior director
• What was your prior job?  She did laundry at the Fayetteville Ambulatory Surgery Center while she was in beauty school.
• What do you wear to work?  “I wear a black top and black pants.” All the salon’s employees must wear black.
• Describe a typical day for you:  She works 8:45am to about 8pm. “I do highlights, color, haircuts, facials and I book appointments,” she said. “I train other employees – we’ve been working on training them with highlighting lately.” She also helps clients with purchases of Aveda supplies.
• What are the perks of your job?  “I get to meet a lot of different people and get to make a lot of different relationships with people.” She also gets to do photo shoots.
• What’s the worst part of your job?  “I would have to say the worst part of my job is when I can’t completely make somebody happy.”
• What did you want to be when you grew up?  “I either wanted to be a fashion designer or an interior decorator. I couldn’t decide.”
• What was your first job?  “A cashier at a grocery store.” She worked at Food Folks, which used to be on Hope Mills Road.
• What’s your favorite part of your job?  “Getting to travel and going to interesting places and meeting big-name hairdressers at the shows we go to.”
